Junior Maritime Museum Trip

What a great day we had on Thursday at the Maritime Museum.  Rooms 1 and 3 all got on the bus and drove through the city to the Maritime Museum.  We saw the tall sky tower, some big cranes and lots of busy traffic.  It was drizzling a little bit but we had on our awesome Warrior jackets to help keep us dry.

At the Museum we had a workshop about floating and sinking.  We learnt about different things that could float and sink.  We learnt why things float and sink.  Then we had to make a boat out of tin foil and see if we could balance balls of plastecine on our boats.  The boats were not allowed to sink!

Next we had a hunt around the museum.  We had pictures of things in the museum and we had to find them.  It was lots of fun!

Lastly we went for a walk around the viaduct and had a look at some of the big boats floating on the harbour.  We also crept onto the playground and had a little play!

We had a great day.  A big thank you to all our helpers.  We couldn't have done it without you.

  1. Wow......you lot had heaps of fun and did heaps of learning. I can see you were clever scientists designing tinfoil boats. Did you all manage to get them to float?
Hey.....that playground looks like an awesome place to visit. Did Miss Lane behave?

I will look forward to reading some of your writing about the day. Remember to bring some writing to my office, I need some wonderful examples of work for my wall!
